Stamping team leadER


Job Summary:

This position is on the 2nd shift – typical hours are from 2:00PM – 10:30PM.

Oversee and be responsible for the Stamping Department through supervision, coordination, coaching/training and providing leadership to the assigned staff. A member of the Stamping Team who focuses on producing parts that meet all Customer specifications at or below standard cost and in a clean and safe environment which supports the Company's mission statement and vision.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervise, coordinate, and provide leadership to shift assigned reports.

  • Work with other departments (QA, Automation, Maintenance, Warehouse, etc.) to troubleshoot processes to ensure that all internal and external requirements are met.

  • Review all departmental documentation and make recommendations or create new for improvements. Coach/train personnel on all existing, new or updated processes and procedures (Setup sheets, BOM & routings, engineering specs, job performance sheets, ISO/TS procedures, etc.)

  • Monitor to ensure that all labor and supplies are available when needed. Maintain the internal manufacturing monitoring system. Verify that programs running and in queue match daily report and internal and external delivery dates.

  • Promote safety, cleanliness and process policies / procedures throughout the entire Company. Support the Company's mission statement and vision.

  • Be able to perform Stamping Manager duties as back-up when needed. Assist in preparation and presentation of department meetings.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • HS diploma required. Vocational education / technical degree a plus.

  • Required:At least 5 years' experience supervising in a technical manufacturing environment.

  • Preferred: Experience working with die technology and production equipment including stamping press, payout/takeup reeling systems, sensors, degreasers, stock straighteners, computers, inspection equipment and vision systems.

  • Must possess strong skills in the following areas: leadership and coaching/training; analytical and problem solving; written and verbal communication; working with computer programs.

  • Must be a driven self-starter able to work with little supervision.

  • Must be able to multi-task and set priorities.

  • Must be able to interact effectively with all levels within the company.

  • ISO/TS/QS knowledge preferred.
