PROCESS ENGINEER, MOLDING - Apply Now
Purpose
Member of the Molding Department Team who focuses on producing parts that meet all customer specifications at or below standard cost and in a clean and safe environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform design of experiments (DOE) on all new tooling programs to establish the optimum molding/manufacturing process.
· Create and maintain all process and/or manufacturing related documentation.
· Assist Molding Technicians and Quality personnel with any process and/or manufacturing related issues.
· Lead the Molding Department’s Continuous Improvement Team.
· Participate as a member of the new Program Development/Quoting Team.
· Participate as a member of the APQP Project Team as it relates to molding issues.
· Participate in all ISO/QS internal and external audits related to the Molding Department.
· Promote cleanliness and safety policies and procedures throughout the entire company.
· Stay current (magazines, trade shows, seminars, etc.) on new molding-related technologies.
· Assist with mold set ups and material handling duties if required.
Qualifications
• BSME or Plastics related degree required.
• Five years’ experience with plastic process development of high tolerance plastic parts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team player who has the ability to interact effectively with multi departments in the Company
• Extensive knowledge of engineering grade plastics as it relates to plastic processing
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) as it relates to plastic processing
• Driven self-starter who works with little supervision
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good windows-based PC skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of Mold tooling
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities
• ISO/QS knowledge preferred
• Bi-Lingual (English & Spanish) a plus
