This strategic stamping is instrumental in the locking function of a syringe to prevent the reuse of contaminated injection devices. Reuse of such devices contributes to a significant portion of many diseases spread globally, particularly in developing countries.

After the injection of the medication into a patient, the plunger rod automatically locks,
preventing the syringe from being reused. The stamped Locking Clip is the mainstay of this process.

Weiss-Aug first built a prototype stamping tool to create Locking Clips for functional testing and validation. Working closely with our customer’s R&D team, Weiss-Aug developed and fine tuned a number of critical aspects of the stamping for use in this safety device.
