Purpose
Oversee and be responsible for the Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering Group through supervision, coordination, coaching/training, and providing leadership to the assigned staff which supports the Company’s mission statement and vision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Must perform all “hands-on” duties and responsibilities detailed in the Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer job description.
- Set and measure goals and objectives for department and all direct reports, which include performance reviews. Work to grow all direct reports, both professionally and personally, by enhancing their skill base so that they become more productive and valuable to the Company.
- Review all departmental documentation and make recommendations or create new for improvements. Coach/train personnel on all new or updated processes and procedures (ISO/QS/TS, capital equipment evaluation/purchase, etc.)
- Monitor and direct priorities of all projects assigned to responsible group so that all internal and external customer requirements are met. Responsible for all project schedules and budgets. Projects include new product/tool introduction and existing product/process continuous improvement.
- Promote cleanliness and safety policies and procedures throughout the entire Company (consistent with 5S and OHSA requirements).
- Stay current (magazines, trade shows, seminars, etc.) on new technology as it relates to the Company’s scope.
- Assist with development of departmental annual budget.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- BS degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 years’ minimum experience in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment – preferably in plastic injection/insert molding and/or progressive stamping.
- Must possess good supervision, leadership and coaching/training skills.
- Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a driven self-starter who works with little supervision.
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to multi-task and set priorities.
- Must be a team player and have the ability to interact effectively with all departments within the Company.
- Must possess good windows-based PC skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, etc).
- ISO/QS knowledge preferred.
